2. Use Pre-printed Mylar labels - TOUGH, DURABLE, RUGGED


We sell rolls of tough, durable, rugged - pre-printed labels.

When you order labels tell us what you want printed at the top of the label - such as your company name.

These Mylar labels are so tough you cannot tear them. We put them on car bumpers and they last for years. Think how long they will last on your computers and desks!

The Mylar labels are made in 3 layers on a label printing machine as big as a car.

Layer 1 - The bottom layer is tough Mylar made by 3M. It is so tough that you cannot tear it and the adhesive forms a "bond" with most surfaces after 48 hours. 3M describes the adhesive as "the adhesive for tough jobs".

Layer 2 - The middle layer is hot stamped ink. We print your company name at the top and the barcode below it.

Layer 3 - A third, top layer of clear Mylar is applied with high pressure. This laminates the barcode label and makes it last.

These pre-printed Mylar labels are tough, stick great, resist water and physical abuse.

There are over a million of these labels in use. We recommend them highly.

Our standard label is 2 inches by 1 inch high. We can provide other sizes.

3. Use labels you already have on assets

Many computers, monitors, and other hardware already come with a barcode on them. Our customers report tremendous success using the barcode that is already on the equipment.

FATS is compatible with most barcodes !

FATS Fixed Asset Inventory Factoid

You can obtain barcode labels three ways. You can print your own barcode labels for fixed asset tracking using our barcode label printing software which interfaces with our fixed asset tracking software. You can purchase pre-printed, laminated, Mylar barcode (bar code) labels directly from us for use with our FATS asset management software. Or you can use barcode labels that you already have on your equipment.

The Fixed asset tracking software requires that you have a unique barcode labels on each asset.

Barcode labels for asset inventory can be 3 of 9, code39, codabar, interleave 2 of 5 (2of5) or just about any other bar code symbology.

The barcode labels are scanned using either Symbol SPT 1500 (SPT1500, SPT-1500) scanners or Symbol SPT 1700 (SPT1700, SPT-1700) scanner. We also use Videx Laser Scanners - LaserLite, LaserLite Pro
